- Community reentry program

Limb loss management
We know managing an amputation is a lifelong experience. At our limb loss clinic, we offer comprehensive care, including education and community resources, to help you work towards daily independence.
Our therapists work closely with you, your prosthetist and your dietician to help find the best possible prosthetic fit and improve your functional mobility skills. As part of your care, we may also incorporate nurse care management, physiatry and occupational and physical therapy services.
During treatment, we will assess your abilities, psychosocial concerns and healthcare needs. This might include skin care management, safe functional mobility and your prosthesis use or candidacy. Screenings may result in a referral to a specialist to address your unique needs. Your doctor can refer you to our clinic during hospital discharge, outpatient care or a follow-up care appointment, as well as while you're at home.
Occupational therapy
Occupational therapy may help you develop or regain the ability to carry out everyday tasks at home, work and in social settings. Your treatment can include working on fine and gross motor skills, as well as coordination and sensory skills to help you shower, drive and use a pen again. Our therapists can assist you with both physical and cognitive impairments, while working as part of a multifaceted team in your care.
Physical therapy
Physical therapy can help you regain mobility and function after an injury or illness. To accomplish this, we will use various techniques to help reduce discomfort and build strength. Our physical therapists can also teach you how to use prosthetics, orthotics and mobility aids.
If you have arthritis in your hands, we offer an at-home therapy program known as SARAH (stretching and strengthening for rheumatoid arthritis of the hand). With SARAH, you can complete exercise and therapy sessions to help improve your function over the course of a few months.
Speech therapy
Speech therapy evaluates and addresses communication impairments that may result from an injury, illness or cognitive disorder. Additionally, our speech therapists can help you express yourself again after a stroke.
